Position Duties/Responsibilities: SENIOR ENGINEER III Responsible for assigned activities within an engineering discipline in a global business unit. Applies broad knowledge of engineering principles and practices to project engineering in the preparation of engineering analyses. Makes decisions concerning problems within the discipline on the project. Represents the discipline on the project and with the client as directed to resolve technical questions. This position is for Civil engineering design on a nuclear power plant with work assignment expected in the Knoxville Tennessee area. Thorough knowledge of engineering techniques, design of engineered systems, and engineering and design calculations. A broad knowledge of the application of engineering to plant constructability as applied to construction methods and materials. Up-to-date knowledge of computer applications to engineering and design. Working knowledge of engineering planning and control methods. A broad knowledge of precedents in Civil/Structural Engineering and a good knowledge of principles and practices of related technical areas. A knowledge of related construction practices and the economics involved. A good knowledge of industry or regulatory standards and design criteria pertinent to the Civil/Structural discipline. Demonstrated skills in oral and written communication. Experience and demonstrated skill at performing work at the Grade 26 level. BSCE from an accredited college or university, a Professional Engineering (PE) license in Civil Engineering, with developmental or practical work experience to the degree necessary to perform the responsibilities outlined above. The Nuclear Civil Engineer?s responsibilities range from generation of design change packages, analyzing existing structures, generating baseline calculations, performing seismic qualifications, preparing construction packages to coordination of Problem Evaluation Reports. Candidate must have enough experience in these activities to manage the assigned group in addition to familiarity with nuclear regulations and procedures. Basic Qualifications: A BS degree in Civil Engineering from accredited college or University. A US Professional Engineering (PE) license in Civil Engineering. Candidate must be capable of passing nuclear security screening. requirements and be able to obtain un-escorted clearance to a nuclear power plant.
Must have the right to work and remain in the USA. Minimum Qualifications: At least 12 years of Civil/Structural experience.
