| This is a skilled office position working to secure compliance with municipal and state codes and regulations governing building construction and zoning administration. This position will plan, organize, and participate in all building programs and activities. | ||
| Examples Of Essential Duties: | ||
| Checks detailed engineering and structural designs in major construction project plans submitted for permits. Confers and corresponds with architects, building owners, engineers, or contractors concerning questions involved in checking of plans. Reviews requests for and issues building permits. Insures that all federal flood elevation criteria are implemented. | ||
| Typical Qualifications: | ||
| Must possess High School Diploma or equivalent. Two years of college or vocational school in the construction trades preferred. At least five years in the construction trades required, or at least two years of experience as a municipal building/housing inspector, or some combination of the above. Ability to obtain ICC in two of the following: Building Plans Examiner, Electrical Plans Examiner, Mechanical Plans Examiner, Plumbing Plans Examiner, Fire Plans Examiner. Ability to obtain certification in Commercial Energy Plans within 2 years of employment. Ability to obtain National Institute for Certification of Engineering Technologies (NICET) Level II Certification in Automatic Sprinkler layout within one year of employment. | ||
